See All 3 of Mariska Hargitay's Adorable Kids Meet Her TV Son at Benson Plaza (VIDEO)

It was a family affair for the SVU star.

By Elizabeth Logan

It was a family affair at 30 Rock, where the famous Rockefeller Center was temporarily transformed into Olivia Benson Plaza to honor a quarter-century of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit's badass captain.

How to Watch

Watch Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Thursdays on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Of course, the Emmy-winning Mariska Hargitay was there, alongside some very special guests: her three kids. Check out the sweet moment below.

For the immersive event, Hargitay and her on-screen son Ryan Buggle (Noah Benson) manned a coffee cart and chatted with fans. Afterwards Hargitay's worlds collided when she and Buggle posed for a photo with her real-life kids: August, 17, Amaya, 12, and Andrew, 11. You can catch the surreal moment at the end of the video below.

"He is such a special human being," Hargitay said of the young actor. "He's not like a lot of child actors. He is so good, wise beyond his years, so kind, just wants to learn and grow, and so engaged. Everyone adores him, and he's such a good little actor, so I feel so safe because he's really present and wants to learn...He's like a little adult, but in a good way. I adore him, and I love having scenes with him. Sometimes with little kids, it's like, 'OK, are they gonna get it? Am I gonna have to navigate this?' But with him it's not like that. I look forward to it. And I have real love for him."

About Mariska Hargitay's 3 kids with Peter Hermann

Hargitay met her husband, actor Peter Hermann, when he first played the role of a high-end defense attorney on SVU. With Andrew being their youngest child, he is the least aware of what his mom does for work, or why an entire plaza might be remade in her honor.

“He thinks I play a cop on TV, end of story,” the actress revealed in an interview, noting that he has not seen her show (SVU is definitely not kid-friendly. But he does understand his mom's popularity, as Andrew apparently went on, “So he asked ‘Why does everyone say I love you when we're walking down the street?'"

Hermann and Hargitay's older kids are more used to attending events with their famous mom; August accompanied Mariska to a Knicks game, and Amaya got to experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour with the very woman Swift's cat is named after.
