Kelly Clarkson Had a Hilariously Scary Experience Sleeping at Reba McEntire's House

This story is so, so relatable.

Kelly Clarkson Hid Reba's Creepy Doll In A Closet

If Kelly Clarkson comes to stay at your house, remember to hide any dolls you might have lying around.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Reba McEntire hilariously learned this lesson one time when the "Since U Been Gone" singer crashed at her pad. Clarkson told this story on a June episode of her talk show during a conversation with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel cast. After asking actor Michael Zegen if he kept a creepy doll as a souvenir from the Maisel set, Clarkson opened up about her own relationship with dolls. Spoiler: She hates them.

"I stayed at [Reba's] house, and she had a doll, and it was so creepy to me," Clarkson said. "Dolls are creepy to me! It was maybe a family thing; I don't know what it was. But two days later, she's like, 'We found the doll in the closet.' And I was like, 'Oh my god, I'm sorry. I didn't put it back.' It scared me, and I couldn't sleep. I'm not gonna sleep with that thing looking at me!"

Maisel actress Alex Borstein had a similar story to share. "I've had that happen at Airbnbs," she said. "They have something very creepy, and I can't look at it and I had to put it away."

Clarkson added, "[Reba asked], 'Did you put my stuff in the closet?' And I was like, 'I kinda did! I did! I'm so sorry; I should've brought it back out.'"

No word yet on if McEntire will bring dolls to the set of The Voice Season 24, where she'll be serving as a Coach alongside Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and John Legend

Reba McEntire on Today.

Noticeably absent from the lineup is Blake Shelton, who wrapped his final season of The Voice in May 2023. After 23 seasons and 12 years, the cowboy finally decided to hang up his Coach hat.

"Can't believe it's been 23 seasons of @nbcthevoice... and especially can't believe today is my final episode. It's bittersweet," Shelton wrote on Instagram. "When we signed up for Season 1, I don't think any of us knew what this was going to be.. These past 12 years I have made lifelong friends and memories. I've had the great opportunity to coach some really talented Artists, nine who have taken home #TeamBlake wins (let's make that 10 tonight?), and watch these Artists grow so much from the show. Thank you to everyone... the crew, the Coaches, the Contestants, the fans, and my wife who have made these some really great years. Love y'all!!!!!!"
