Hanako Greensmith Shared the Most Picturesque Photo From Her Mountain Getaway

The Chicago Fire star embraced nature away from filming.

By Jackie Manno

Hanako Greensmith (Violet Mikami) just can't get enough of that mountain scenery.

How to Watch

Watch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

On December 21, the Chicago Fire star posted some snapshots of her mountain getaway. The first picture was postcard-worthy, as the actress posed in front of a giant rocky skyline covered in snow.

"Where are we?" an offscreen voice asked her in a video.

"I don't even know..." she said with a sigh, overwhelmed by the beauty around her.

"Missing mountains… promise," she captioned the post.

Greensmith is clearly a fan of a good hike, as she showed us pictures of her getting away to another gorgeous, mountain-filled location in August. In the pictures, we see goats before Greensmith took a snapshot of her posing in her hiking boots in front of a bright, blue river. The next snapshots showed flowing bodies of water on a bright, sunny day and beautiful flowers.

"Took myself to the mountains," she captioned the post.

Hanako Greensmith on Chicago Fire Season 11's most shocking, tragic moment

In a 2022 interview with TV Insider, Greensmith talked about what would later be revealed as the sudden death of her character's on-screen partner Evan Hawkins, who passed when he was crushed by falling rubble from a burning theater.

“That is a huge weight that comes with being a paramedic or even working in the medical field: having to accept that this is a lovely, warm, family-based television show. But in reality, you cannot save everybody that you’re trying to save,” she told the outlet.

She continued, “I think we try to highlight the reality of that as much as we can, and you’re going to see Violet have to come to terms with that in a really, really big way. Within the first few episodes, you’ll see her have to deal with a challenge that you haven’t seen her deal with before. I think that’s going to be exciting and sad all in one.”

Hanako Greensmith as Violet Mikami

As fans prepare for Season 12, Kara Killmer (Sylvie Brett) posted a sneak peak of her, Greensmith, and Miranda Rae Mayo (Stella Kidd) all embracing behind the scenes while filming in uniform

"It's happening!" Killmer wrote on the picture posted to her Instagram story on November 27.

Chicago Fire Season 12 premieres Wednesday, January 17 at 9/8c on NBC.
