In the opening scenes of Deal or No Deal Island Season 1, Episode 1, viewers are introduced to the Banker's remote private island, our charming host, and the 13 competitors who have traveled all this way for a chance to best the Banker.

Our competitors span a wide range of professions and backgrounds, from a professional poker player (Brantzen Wong from Tustin, California) to a Survivor legend (“Boston” Rob Mariano from Perdido Keys, Florida) to a former Deal or No Deal briefcase model-turned-Real Housewife (Claudia Jordan from Dallas, Texas).

In these opening minutes, our host introduces himself as being hand-picked by the Banker as his "personal gaming liaison." His job? To introduce each challenge, make sure our daring competitors don't get "lost" in the jungle, and look good while doing it. After undergoing a new challenge, each night, the contestants will play classic Deal or No Deal and continuously add to the final pot, which means one of them could walk away with the ultimate prize: $200 million.

In the first challenge, which sees a helicopter dropping those iconic metal briefcases into the jungle for our contestants to do battle over, Joe explains that the Banker is looking to determine which of them is the biggest "gambler."
