Trolls Band Together for Musical Homage: *NSYNC, Lizzo & and a Pitch-Perfect Backstreet Boys Joke

References to the returning *NSYNC wouldn't be complete without their main '90s rival, the Backstreet Boys.

After two movies of friendship and flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are finally together! And now that they've gotten their love story figured out, it's time for a family reunion in Trolls Band Together.

In the third installment of the rainbow-tinged musical Trolls series, Branch's long-lost brothers and bandmates — Floyd (Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André), Spruce (Daveed Diggs) and Clay (Kid Cudi) — return to turn up the volume and reunite their boy band, BroZone. You see, when Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains — Velvet (Amy Schumer) and Veneer (Andrew Rannells) — Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.

And what would a movie musical be without a proper homage to the music featured in the film? That's why the latest trailer from Trolls Band Together features covers of songs from an eclectic group of artists, including the Backstreet Boys ("Everybody [Backstreet's Back]"), the Bee Gees ("Stayin' Alive"), Weezer ("Island in the Sun"), Lizzo ("Good as Hell"), Sister Sledge ("We Are Family"), New Kids on the Block ("You Got It [The Right Stuff]"), and, of course, *NSYNC ("All I Ever Wanted"), who have reunited for a new song to be featured in the movie, "Better Place."

Sivan's Floyd might have the best lines in the trailer, though, with nods to some of the most famous boy bands of all time, including Boyz II Men, One Direction, and, of course, *NSYNC's famed '90s rival, the Backstreet Boys.

Featuring Trolls’ signature psychedelic joy-bomb of new and classic pop hits, Trolls Band Together stars a dazzling cast of musical superstars and comedic powerhouses as new franchise characters, including four-time Grammy nominee and Latin Grammy winner Camila Cabello (Cinderella) as Viva; Zosia Mamet (The Flight Attendant) as Crimp; and 12-time Emmy winning drag icon RuPaul Charles as Miss Maxine.

Get Tickets to see Trolls Band Together early on November 4 or see it in theaters everywhere November 17.
