Why Gwen Stefani Didn't Think Blake 'Had a Chance' Winning The Voice This Season

The Voice Live Shows are well underway, and it could be any team's game. Artists on Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Camila Cabello's teams are all thriving, which makes predicting a winner extremely difficult. 

Earlier this season, though, that wasn't the case. If you recall, the early Blind Auditions were rough on veteran Coach Shelton, who couldn't seem to get anyone to join his team. And in a new interview with Access, Stefani revealed this time actually made her think her husband wasn't going to win this season. 

"I didn't think that Blake, when this whole thing started, had a chance in the race," she said. "It's true! You were losing. You were a loser, but now you have so many good people on your team." 

Cabello added, "It's not really a testament to you [Shelton]. It's a testament to the season and the talent of the season."

But Shelton wasn't going to let Stefani off that easily. "I don't think that's what Gwen said. What Gwen said was my team, when I started working with them, they just weren't very good. They were mediocre. And then after some coaching, voilà," he said, clearly joking. Everyone on Shelton's team is amazing; he's just enhancing their amazing-ness!
