Lisa Kudrow's Reason for Hating the Beach Will Definitely Make You Laugh

I mean, she's not wrong.

Lisa Kudrow made an appearance July 19th on Late Night With Seth Meyers, and she and Host Seth Meyers bonded over their mutual disdain for the beach. That's right: Apparently, Meyers and Kudrow would rather be doing just about anything other than spending a lazy day ocean-side.

How to Watch

"Yeah, I hate the sand," Kudrow said. "When I was a kid, I didn’t mind…and then I got smart. And I don’t like it at all. The sand, it gets everywhere—there are sand fleas, maybe."

Well, when you put it that way, she has a point.

Kudrow also admitted her husband isn’t a fan of the beach either but does enjoy underwater activities. Despite her partner’s affinity for the open water, though, Kudrow says it’s just not her cup of tea.

"My husband doesn’t like the beach either, but he scuba dives and snorkels, and that is out of the question for me," she added. "I can’t live underwater. To me, my instincts tell me I don’t belong there. And you put the snorkel on and you see it’s another world, and I want out."

Lisa Kudrow executive produces Who Do You Think You Are?, the hit NBC ancestry show that follows celebrities as they uncover surprising details about their family lineages. The Friends star was keen on bringing the show stateside after really responding to the U.K. version. "Genealogy was just the vehicle that got you to these phenomenal stories about ancestry and about our history, and it's our shared history," she said. "I felt watching it like we're all connected."
