Hear Why LVNDR's "Magical," "Daring" Drake Cover "Transported" the Coaches

LVNDR's performance was smooth and sultry, just like her namesake.

The true magic of The Voice is the way it opens the usually-gated entrance of professional music to local musicians with unique voices. Season 24, Episode 4 saw a well-rounded slate of talented performers but none with stronger grassroots than LVNDR (pronounced Lavender).

How to Watch

Watch the Season 26 premiere of The Voice on Monday, September 23 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

LVNDR began performing seriously a few years ago, learning to play guitar alone in her bedroom with YouTube tutorials. She never told anyone she wanted to sing or that she'd been honing her craft. A Blind Audition on The Voice is certainly one way to let your friends and family know what you’ve been up to!

LVNDR’s unique version of "Hotline Bling" by Drake earns a Two-Chair Turn from Niall Horan and John Legend

“I do have a unique style to what I do. I just hope I’m what they’re looking for,” LVNDR said just before taking the stage during the episode. She started in on a completely transformed rendition of Drake’s “Hotline Bling."

Still facing away, John Legend cracked a smile on the very first line, his button finger twitching. Niall Horan turned first, with Legend trailing just behind, earning LVNDR an impressive Two-Chair Turn. “Oh my god, that was perfection,” Legend said.

“That was something special. I was thinking, 'Do I let her finish the first sentence before I press the button or what?' because I just love character and you’ve got it in abundance,” Horan said.

Horan continued, “Those voices that when you’re facing away, and you get goosebumps, and your ears perk up. Because we’re literally just over there staring at the wall and hoping that someone comes and catches our attention, and you absolutely did that. That was stunning, I would absolutely love to have you on my team.

It was a strong sales pitch and an effective one, with LVNDR joining Team Niall ultimately. But will LVNDR stand strong throughout the competition? Find out on The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock!
