The dog days of summer are over, and vocal legend Kelly Clarkson is celebrating the return of The Kelly Clarkson Show with a special cover of a beloved Florence + The Machine track. Clarkson is famous for tackling whatever hit song comes her way in the form of Kellyokes, but her rendition of Florence + The Machine's soulfully eclectic song is jaw-dropping.

On September 15, Clarkson took her show's audience by storm with a mesmerizing Kellyoke performance of Florence + The Machine's "Dog Days are Over," the 2010 song that skyrocketed Florence Welch and her whimsical Machine to fame. The song was made famous partially due to the vocally demanding notes, but Clarkson isn't ever threatened with a microphone in her hands. Clarkson's seamless melodies didn't fail her as she had the audience hooked with the very first lyric, "Happiness hit her like a train on a track..."

Starting dreamily slow but quickly picking up pace, Clarkson, My Band Y'all, and her background singers gave an electric performance, a perfect homage to the original track. Clarkson seamlessly maintained the song's iconic upbeat nature while still upping the ante, leading to her audience and entire band dancing along with each note. How could you not? The chorus is so catchy that it's hard not to swing to the beat with every "run fast for your mother and fast for your father".

Season 4 of the Emmy-award-winning The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered September 12, and Clarkson has hit the ground running with her iconic Kellyoke performances. Clarkson's first performance back included a rousing medley of songs by Taylor Swift, Willie Nelson, Madonna, and Aretha Franklin. Clarkson knows the best ways to get the crowd moving, and her cover of "Dog Days Are Over" is yet another testament to her endless vocal skill.
