One Chicago is an NBC staple. For the uninitiated, that's the name used to describe all the shows in Dick Wolf's Chicago universe: Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D.

Watch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Each of these shows has a storied history. The flagship series Chicago Fire has been runningsince 2012;  Chicago P.D. began airing in 2014; and Chicago Med got started in 2015. All are executive-produced by Wolf, the mastermind behind the Law & Order universe. The One Chicago action isn't ending soon, either, because Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med have all been renewed for new seasons.

How many seasons of Chicago Med are there?

Debuting in 2015, there are nine nail-biting seasons of Chicago Med. The series follows the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center's passionate team of doctors and nurses, all dedicated to helping whatever patient walks through the hospital doors.

When does Chicago Med Season 9 premiere?

Season 9 of Chicago Med premieres Wednesday, January 17 at 8/7c on NBC. Episodes stream next day on Peacock. 

One Chicago creator Dick Wolf is thrilled about the renewal, which also includes ;all three Law & Order series “I’m pleased to continue my four-decade relationship with Universal Television and NBC,” Wolf said in a statement. “All six shows being picked up again is the ultimate accolade to our incredible casts, producers, and writers. I'd also like to thank our loyal fans who have kept our NBC shows on the air for what will be a cumulative 84 seasons.”

What happened in Season 8 of Chicago Med?

Season 8 of Chicago Med was a thrilling watch. Many beloved doctors bid farewell to Gaffney Medical Center, including Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), Emergency Room Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), and Dr. Vanessa Taylor (Asjha Cooper). And, Gaffney Med's fearless boss Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) was fighting tooth and nail to prevent Jack Dayton (Sasha Roiz) from turning the hospital into a for-profit hospital.

Chicago Fire boasts 12 action-packed seasons as the flagship series in the One Chicago franchise.

Since its 2011 debut, the series has followed the driven firefighters and first responders of CFD's Firehouse 51, each equally willing to throw themselves in the line of fire for Chicago's citizens.

What happened in Season 10 of Chicago P.D.?

Season 10 of Chicago P.D. finished with a bang as viewers watched in horror as Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) got shot.
