bodie's Voice Sounds Hauntingly Perfect on This Coldplay Cover

The Voice Season 22 runner-up took a refreshing approach to the 2005 tune.

By Jackie Manno

bodie recently put his own unique spin on a 2000s alt-rock tune.

How to Watch

Watch the Season 26 premiere of The Voice on Monday, September 23 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

On October 10, The Voice Season 22 runner-up posted the most angelic clip of himself singing "Fix You" by Coldplay.

During his cover, he riffed his heart out while using a synthesizer effect on his keyboard. His microphone also had the perfect amount of reverb, making his voice echo in the most haunting way. He sang the lyrics with pure passion, completely immersing himself in the music.

"really excited to drop the new new🥹 but for now here’s a cover 🖤 (also slightly jealous my wife just saw @coldplay without me)" he captioned the post.

What to know about "Fix You" by Coldplay

Released in 2005 off the band's third album X&Y, Chris Martin wrote the lyrics to "Fix You" after his then-wife Gwyneth Paltrow's father passed away. The song was a tool to comfort her and give her hope after her loss. "Fix You" reached the number-three position on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs list.

Rolling Stone placed the song on the 392nd position on its "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list in 2021. "From the frayed ends of his falsetto to his heart-on-sleeve lyrics, Chris Martin’s unironic earnestness is his gift; he reaches for the biggest emotions he can, and when he connects, the results can feel colossal," the outlet wrote.
