An Artist Covers a John Legend Song Like Never Before on The Voice Season 25

If this is any indication of where The Voice Season 25 is headed, we're in for a real treat.

By Christopher Rosa

What can viewers expect from The Voice Season 25? Well, here's a non-exhaustive list: (1) The return of Coaches Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper, and John Legend. (2) The debut of the show's first-ever Coach duo, Dan + Shay, sitting in the first-ever Double Chair. And (3) An Artist from a team not yet known singing a John Legend track like never before.

John Legend says an Artist covers one of his songs on The Voice Season 25

How to Watch

Watch the Season 26 premiere of The Voice on Monday, September 23 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Legend spilled this bit of tea in a recent interview with NBC Insider. When asked if there's ever been a cover of one of his songs that he really loved, he cryptically answered, "We’re gonna see a really good version of one of my songs on this season of The Voice. I don’t wanna give away who it comes from or what team they’re on, but we’re gonna see a really good version that I’ve not seen [before]."

As for what Legend song the Artist sings, that's also a mystery. Looks like you have yet another reason to tune into The Voice Season 25 when it premieres Monday, February 26 at 8/7c on NBC. (Episodes stream next day on Peacock.)

"I love that we get to be surrounded by so much talent, and it’s really inspiring, truthfully," Legend told NBC Insider about why he loves being a Coach on The Voice. "I learn so much from being on this show. I learn from coaching. I learn from the interaction I have with these Artists. It’s very renewing because I’ve been making records for, like, 20 years now, and to be around Artists that have that hunger and that excitement is very renewing for me, and I love that experience...The inspiration that I get from these Artists every single time doesn’t get old."

Legend has been a Coach on The Voice for Seasons 16-22, plus Seasons 24 and Season 25. He won the show once in Season 16 with Maelyn Jarmon, but will Season 25 be the time he takes the crown again? You'll just have to watch to find out.
