John Tui plays Afa on the new NBC comedy "Young Rock."

Tui is a New Zealand actor of Polynesian descent known for his roles as Bolg in "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" and Navy officer Walter "The Beast" Lynch in "Battleship."

Tui's most recent credits include "Solo: A Star Wars Story," the New Zealand feature "Savage," the Australian indie "Paper Champions," which premiered at the 2020 Melbourne International Film Festival, and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw."

Tui is the only "Power Rangers" actor to play two different characters who both become Rangers – Anubis "Doggie" Cruger, the S.P.D. Shadow Ranger in "Power Rangers S.P.D.," and Daggeron, the Solaris Knight, in "Power Rangers Mystic Force."

His TV credits include recurring roles on "Go Girls" and "Shortland Street" as well as appearances in "Nothing Trivial" and the miniseries "Tatau."

Trained at the prestigious drama school Toi Whakaari, Tui is a sought-after theater actor and an experienced voiceover artist.
