Derek's dance résumé is one to be admired: He was named the 2014 Male Dancer of the Year by the American Dance Awards, made it to the Top 8 on Season 12 of "So You Think You Can Dance" and landed the lead role in the Cirque du Soleil show "Koozå," a major personal accomplishment. He also owns his own post-secondary program, Intrepid Dance Company, and has taught at more than 300 competitive dance studios around the world. Now, Derek is ready to face his most competitive dance challenge yet on the "World of Dance" stage.
