Actor Bio
Bridgit Mendler stars as new waitress Candace on NBC’s comedy "Undateable."
Born in Washington D.C., Mendler moved to the Northern California town of Mill Valley when she was eight years old. By the time she began middle school, she had started acting, first in local productions and later in Los Angeles, where the young teen headed to pursue a career. She landed early roles in soap operas and films before Disney discovered her, giving her guest roles in shows such as "Jonas" and "Wizards of Waverly Place."
Her big break came when she was cast as Teddy in the series "Good Luck Charlie," which debuted on the Disney Channel in 2010. Her role as the protective big sister of baby Charlie catapulted Mendler to stardom in the Disney world and beyond. She juggled work on the series with lead roles in the Disney Channel movie "Lemonade Mouth," guest-starring roles in shows such as "House" and voicing the title character in the hit Walt Disney Pictures animated film "The Secret World of Arrietty."
Also a talented musician, Mendler released her debut album "Hello My Name Is..." in 2012. It debuted in the top 30 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and No. 1 on iTunes' pop album chart. Her debut single, "Ready or Not," has achieved Platinum certification in the United States. Her follow-up single, "Hurricane," was soon certified Gold. Mendler is currently working on her sophomore album, due out spring 2015.
