Growing up, Ethan traveled back and forth between Washington and Idaho, splitting time with each of his parents. As a teenager he would travel hundreds of miles to perform and briefly had a record deal with Capitol Records. Ethan now plays 100 shows a year. His younger brother, Jacob, had cerebral palsy and lived his entire life in a wheelchair until his passing in 2010. Ethan currently lives with his 85-year-old grandma and helps her out as much as he can. She is one of Ethan's biggest supporters.
