Gigi was born into a music-loving family and always found joy in singing. In middle school, she was diagnosed with a hormone disorder called polycystic ovarian syndrome, which caused her to gain weight at an alarming rate. She was bullied throughout her childhood because of her size and never wanted to sing publicly. At 19, after living with low self-esteem and declining health, she decided to take control of her future and had gastric sleeve surgery. She dropped 120 pounds, improved her health and enrolled in music school, where she gained her confidence back. Gigi is now a full-time musician and is ready to take "The Voice" stage with her head held high.
