Denton found music through church, where he spent most of his time growing up. He started playing the keyboard at just four years old after watching his parents sing in church. As Denton got older, playing keyboard and piano became second nature to him, but singing was a secret he kept to himself. Denton sang a solo in his senior year of high school and shocked his friends with his talent. After college, Denton got a job running the church music department, where he met his soon-to-be wife, Tiffany.
