Rayshun made the decision to dedicate his life to music very early on. He studied vocal performance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, but after receiving a callback for "The Lion King" on Broadway, Rayshun dropped out of school. Despite not getting the part, he threw himself into the music scene. Then, it all came to a screeching halt when he was diagnosed with lymphoma and multicentric Castleman's disease, a rare genetic disorder. Rayshun lost much of his hearing, vision and voice. After two years of intense treatment, Rayshun is cancer-free and has regained his sight, hearing and vocals, enabling him to start performing again.
