Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry is an actor, writer, producer and director best known for creating the character Madea. He has written and directed over 19 plays, with many being adapted for TV and film, and created the TV series Tyler Perry's House of Payne and The Haves and the Have Nots. Perry's most successful films include 2006's Madea's Family Reunion, 2009's Madea Goes to Jail, 2009's I Can Do Bad All by Myself, 2016's Boo! A Madea Halloween and 2019's A Madea Family Funeral. Perry's other recent appearances include The Oval and Sistas. He also wrote, produced and directed the Netflix film A Jazzman's Blues, which premiered in September 2022. Perry's upcoming film Mea Culpa, which he wrote, produced and directed, premieres on Netflix in February 2024.
