Laverne Cox is an award-winning actress and LGBTQ+ advocate who is best known for her reoccurring role as Sophia Burset on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. She is the first transgender woman to ever be nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and is known for her activism for the transgender community. She has also starred in movies such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again, Charlie’s Angels and Promising Young Woman. Cox has also produced a variety of documentaries such as Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word and Disclosure. She can be seen in Netflix’s Inventing Anna, which premieres February 2022.
