Thirty Seconds to Mars was formed in 1998 by Jared Leto and his older brother Shannon. The band's self-titled album was released in 2002 to critical acclaim but modest success. Their sophomore effort, A Beautiful Lie, came out three years later and was certified platinum. A Beautiful Lie's success led to a worldwide tour and a new member, guitarist Tomo Milicevic. The band's third album, This Is War, was released in 2009, and Thirty Seconds to Mars set a Guinness World Record with their tour in support of it, playing 309 shows over two years. The band's latest album, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams, was released in May 2013.
