The Roots is a Grammy Award-winning hip-hop act Rolling Stone magazine named one of the greatest live bands around. Founded by Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter and Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, the group has released 14 albums since 1993, five of which reached the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart. Additionally, The Roots is also the official house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Questlove also serves as the show's Musical Director. They collaborated with Bilal on the track, "It Ain't Fair," which appears on the soundtrack for the film Detroit.
