Patti Smith is a writer, performer and visual artist. She has released 11 albums and published more than 10 books, including Just Kids, which won the National Book Prize in 2010. Smith was awarded the title of Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 2005 and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. Her latest book, Devotion (Why I Write), was published in September.
