He is known for writing and directing the films The Squid and the Whale, Margot at the Wedding, Frances Ha, While We’re Young, Mistress America and The Meyerowitz Stories. Baumbach recently wrote and directed the film Marriage Story, which premiered in theaters in August before releasing on Netflix in December 2019.
