Luis Miranda is a political adviser, author and the father of Lin-Manuel Miranda. Luis Miranda moved from Puerto Rico to New York City in 1971 and went on to spend 40 years working as a political consultant. Miranda was also the special adviser on Hispanic affairs to mayor Ed Koch and founded the nonprofit Hispanic Federation. A documentary about his life, titled Siempre, Luis, premieres in October 2020 on HBO.
