James Arthur is a British singer-songwriter who won the ninth season of The X Factor in 2012. His debut single, "Impossible," topped the Official U.K. Singles Chart and went on to sell more than 3 million records, becoming the most successful winner's single in the history of the show. Arthur's self-titled debut album was released a year later and debuted at No. 2 on the Official U.K. Albums chart. Following a break from the limelight, Arthur released his sophomore album, Back from the Edge, in 2016. It topped the albums chart and produced his second No. 1 hit, "Say You Won't Let Go."
