J.J. Watt is a retired professional football player who played defensive end for the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals. He was drafted by the Texans in 2011 and has gone on to be named the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year three times and set an NFL record for two 20-plus-sack seasons. Watt has also been selected for the Pro Bowl five times. In 2017, he was named Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year. Watt was also selected to the 2010s NFL All-Decade Team by the NFL and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After the 2021 season, Watt signed a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals. He retired from the NFL at the end of the 2022 season. Outside of football, he founded the Justin J. Watt Foundation in 2010.
