Comedian
Elayne Boosler is a comedian, writer and animal activist. She became the first female to have her own one-hour comedy special with 1985's Party of One, which was self-produced and aired on Showtime. Following Party of One's success, Boosler wrote four more one-hour specials for the network as well as wrote and directed two movies for Cinemax. Boosler has also guested on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect more than 30 times and appeared on HBO's Comic Relief for several years. Additionally, she founded her animal rescue organization, Tails Of Joy, 20 years ago.
