Dolly Parton is a Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated country music singer-songwriter, actress and author. She has scored 25 No. 1 songs on Billboard's Hot Country Songs charts and 47 top 10 albums on the Top Country Albums chart, and she has sold over 100 million records. Additionally, Parton has starred in the films 9 to 5, Steel Magnolias, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone and Straight Talk. In 2018, Parton released the soundtrack for the Netflix film Dumplin', for which she recorded six new songs. Parton also starred in the NBC special Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Opry, which premiered in November 2019. Parton also made headlines for her donation to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center that is responsible for the Moderna vaccine protecting against COVID-19. Beyond this, Parton also staged a socially distant performance in the 2020 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. She currently has a single out with Jimmy Fallon, "Almost Too Early for Christmas," and her new NBC holiday special, Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Christmas, will air in December 2022.
