Bobby Flay is an award-winning chef, television personality and cookbook author. He opened his first restaurant, Mesa Grill, in 1991 in New York City; BOLO followed two years later. That same year, Flay was named the James Beard Foundation's Rising Star Chef of the Year. Bar Americain, Bobby Flay Steak and Bobby's Burger Palace followed in the nearly two decades after, with Flay's most recent venture, GATO, opening in New York City in 2014. Along the way, Flay penned 12 cookbooks and won two Emmy Awards for his series Boy Meets Grill and Grill It! with Bobby Flay. He was inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame in 2013.
