Billy Bob Thornton is an Academy Award-winning actor, writer and director. He scored his big break writing and starring in 1996's Sling Blade, for which he won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar and was nominated for Best Actor. Thornton scored his third nomination soon after for his performance in 1998's A Simple Plan. The actor's other notable films include Primary Colors, Armageddon, Monster's Ball, Love Actually, Bad Santa and Friday Night Lights. Thornton scored an Emmy nomination for his leading role on the FX series Fargo. He can next be seen in Season 2 of the Paramount+ series Landman, which premieres in November 2025.
