James Cameron Turned Avatar into a Cirque Du Soleil
James Cameron is the Academy Award-winning writer and director of Avatar and Titanic. He kicked off his career with 1984's Terminator, which he both wrote and directed. The film's sequel, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, followed in 1991. In between, Cameron helmed 1986's Aliens, a sequel to Ridley Scott's Alien, and 1989's The Abyss. Cameron scored a major blockbuster with 1997's Titanic, which earned him three Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Film Editing. It became the highest-grossing film of all time until the release of the director's next film, 2009's Avatar. Cameron is currently at work on four Avatar sequels.
