Ice Cube is a rapper and filmmaker. Considered one of the originators of gangsta rap, he got his start as a member of N.W.A. and wrote many of the lyrics for the group's breakout 1988 album, Straight Outta Compton. After leaving N.W.A., Ice Cube launched a successful solo career, starting with his 1990 debut album AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted. As an actor, he is best known for starring in the films Boyz n the Hood, Three Kings, Are We There Yet? and the Ride Along, Friday, Barbershop and 21 Jump Street franchises. In 2015, Ice Cube produced the film Straight Outta Compton, which chronicled the rise and fall of N.W.A. and starred his son. He most recently appeared in xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Fist Fight. Ice Cube is currently touring the country with his BIG3 basketball league.
