Ruby Bridges Surprises Young Principal Inspiring Next Generation Of Civil Rights Activists


At 6 years old, Ruby Bridges became the first Black student to integrate with the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana in 1960. Today, she is a civil rights leader and author of a new children's book "I Am Ruby Bridges." In honor of Ruby Bridges Walk To School Day, Ruby surprises Kenneth Gorham, the youngest principal ever at the Freedom Movement School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ruby applauds Kevin for inspiring young people to make a difference in their community, and offers him a special virtual visit to his school.
