Jennifer Carpenter stars as Erica Shepherd on NBC’s new drama series "The Enemy Within."

Carpenter is best known for her performance as Debra Morgan on the Showtime hit series "Dexter." She first attracted critical attention for her performance in Scott Derrickson's "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," opposite Laura Linney.

Carpenter most recently starred in S. Craig Zahler’s "Dragged Across Concrete" and his "Brawl in Cell Block 99," which had back-to-back premieres at the Venice Film Festival, and the CBS series "Limitless," based on the film of the same name.

She trained at the Juilliard School and starred in the Broadway production of "The Crucible."
