Actor Bio

Picabo Street is an accomplished and widely adored American alpine ski racer and retired member of the U.S. Ski Team. She won gold medals in super G at the 1998 Winter Olympics and in downhill at the 1996 World Championships, along with three other Olympic and World Championship medals. She also won World Cup downhill season titles in 1995 and 1996, and in doing so was the first American woman to accomplish such a feat. In addition, Street accrued a total of nine World Cup downhill race wins.

Street was born in Triumph, Idaho in 1971. She was raised on a small farm several miles southeast of Sun Valley, where she learned to ski and race.

After her silver medal performance in the downhill at the 1994 Winter Olympics, a run was named after her at Sun Valley and at Park City Mountain Resort. By winning the 1995 downhill title, she became the first American ever to win a World Cup season title in a speed event. Shortly after her gold medal win in the super G at the 1998 Winter Olympics, Street careened off course while racing in Switzerland. She crashed, snapping her left femur, and tearing a ligament in her right knee. She was in rehabilitation for two years following the accident. Street returned to ski racing, and retired in front of a record setting crowd after the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Street was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in

2004.

Since her retirement, Street has worked extensively in the broadcast business for entities such as NBC Sports, CBS, OLN, RSN and NBC’s “Today Show.” She has provided commentary on the ski racing world and has also hosted her own sport and lifestyle shows. Street is also a motivational speaker, and she leads ski clinics and VIP ski hospitality programs around the globe.

Street divides her time between Park City, Utah and Alabama. She is happily married and is the proud mom of four young boys.
