Bio

Bobby Moynihan is returning to "SNL" for his ninth season.

Moynihan plays the fan-favorite character Drunk Uncle on "Weekend Update," as well as other original characters, including Riblet, Kirby the Astronaut, and Anthony Crispino, a secondhand news anchor who reports anything but the truth. His impressions include Guy Fieri, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Newt Gingrich.

Moynihan voices the role of Panda on the Cartoon Network animated series "We Bare Bears," and also voiced several different characters on Hulu's original animated series "The Awesomes." In addition, he was a guest star on "The Simpsons," a series regular on the PBS animated series "Nature Cat" and lent his voice to Disney Channel's "Jake and the Never Land Pirates." His other television credits include HBO's "Girls," IFC's "Portlandia" and "Comedy Bang! Bang!."

His past film credits include "The Secret Life of Pets," "Sisters," "Staten Island Summer," Pixar's "Inside Out" and "Monsters University," "The Invention of Lying," "Grown Ups 2" and "When in Rome." He will next be seen in the upcoming films "Brother Nature," opposite Taran Killam, "The Book of Henry" directed by Colin Trevorrow and "Why We're Killing Gunther" with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Moynihan is a fixture at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York, where he performs at the signature weekly "Assssscat" show. He is also a co-founder of the sketch group "Buffoons" with friends Charlie Sanders and Eugene Cordero.

Moynihan graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1999. He hails from Eastchester, New York, and lives in New York City. His birthday is January 31.
