Jessica Lu stars as Alexis Barrett, the tech genius behind Onira-Tech and its groundbreaking technology, on the NBC series "Reverie."

Lu grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, where she spent her childhood and high school years developing a love of theater and the performing arts. She attended Columbia College Chicago, where she studied musical theater performance and graduated with honors.

On television, Lu is well known for her work on "Awkward," where she was able to showcase her comedic chops. Over the years, she has worked consistently in TV and has appeared on series such as "Disjointed" (Netflix), "iZombie" (CW), "American Horror Story" (FX), "Red Band Society" (Fox) and "Weird Loners" (Fox). She has also guest-starred on Alan Ball's HBO series "Here and Now." On the feature side, she most recently starred in "Namour," which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

Lu is an advocate for Love Is Louder Than the Pressure to Be Perfect, which addresses issues of bullying, depression and discrimination, and The Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for the LGBTQ community.

She resides in Los Angeles.
