Almost three months after turning 21, Christina Abraham finally left the New York City group home she had been living in. A charity helped with supplies for her new apartment, which was secured using a city rental voucher. But money was tight: $150 had to last Christina for about three weeks of meals and commuting to her new job while she waited for her first paycheck.
