Almost three months after turning 21, Christina Abraham finally left the New York City group home she had been living in. A charity helped with supplies for her new apartment, which was secured using a city rental voucher. But money was tight: $150 had to last Christina for about three weeks of meals and commuting to her new job while she waited for her first paycheck. NBC News’ Antonia Hylton followed Christina’s journey leading up to her exit from the foster care system.
