Governor Hochul promises cameras in each subway car amid rising crime underground


New York is back to business after a lull during the pandemic, now with an average of more than three and a half million riders a day. But crime underground is also going up. This year, there were nine murders in the subway system, compared to just 3 for all of 2019. New York City’s governor promised more police patrols and even cameras in each subway car.
