Kelly Clarkson's Cover of 'Dream a Little Dream of Me' Is So Hypnotizing

Pinch us, because Kelly Clarkson singing "Dream a Little Dream of Me" is a dream come true. 

In the beloved Kellyoke segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson and her band performed a hypnotizing cover of Mama Cass' rendition of "Dream a Little Dream of Me," and it was breathtaking. From Clarkson's effortless vocal build to the thoughtful instrumental arrangement, each second of the performance was more mesmerizing than the last. The song, penned by the late Doris Day, has been covered by many Artists, but Clarkson's take on the timeless track is spellbinding. 

Opting for dreamy purple lighting reminiscent of a thriving jazz club, Clarkson began the song slowly, singing clear, resonant alto notes that instantly held the audience's attention. Clarkson effortlessly worked up to a higher register for the song's chorus, sliding to her lower range for a lulling take on the lyric, "stars fading, but I linger on, dear," while bouncing back to her soprano range for, "Still craving your kiss."

By the last chorus of the performance, Clarkson fully belted each line with the grace of an angel.
