All the Holiday Things You Can Do at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood in 2023
Universal CityWalk in Hollywood has a whole roster of free fun planned for the holidays. Check it out.
Warm or chilly, rain or shine, Universal Studios Hollywood is already dressed in its holiday finery and welcoming everyone to celebrate the season at the theme park and Universal's CityWalk entertainment complex. If you're near California, or plan to be in SoCal before the end of this year, you can visit the CityWalk complex without a ticket. There will be lots to do from November through the end of December, with free performances and all the retailers and restaurants will be open to help finish your holiday gift list.
It always feels like the holidays when you see the CityWalk 40-foot Christmas tree, featuring over 200,000 LED lights, which can be found in front of Universal Cinema starting in November. It's a great place for family photos or to gather for some of the live entertainment on the adjacent stage throughout the season. In fact, we've got a handy list of some of the CityWalk events you'll want to add to your calendar in 2023.
Carolers, Street Performers and and DJ Night Fridays
Located next to the official Christmas tree is the CityWalk stage, which will host a range of live entertainment for the season. Starting November 24, there will be live DJ Nights every Friday and Saturday all the way through December 16. Get your group dance on with the rest of the visitors at CityWalk.
There will also be curated street performers gracing the walkways of Citywalk starting November 1 and going through December 22. Keep your eyes and ears out for a rotating selection of talented performers on Thursdays through Sundays on those dates. And, if you don't live in a neighborhood that has carolers, don't fret because CityWalk will feature its own wandering singers from December 19 to December 21.
Seasons eatings with special menus, treats and drinks at CityWalk restaurants
Beginning on November 15, many restaurants at CityWalk will start their special holiday food and drink menus for visitors to enjoy through New Year's Eve 2023.
Antojitos Cocina Mexicana will have three special drinks for the season: Mistletoe Mule, Chestnut Horchata and Apple Cider Margarita;
NBC Sports Grill & Brew will offer three holiday treats: Peppermint Martini, BBQ Quesadilla and Cinnamon Bread Pudding;
Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville has their brand-new Co-co Colada;
The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen has a limited edition ‘Tis the Season Milkshake;
and the Voodoo Doughnut seasonal menu is available the entire month of December featuring four limited edition pastries: Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread, Holiday Sprinkle Cake and Yuletide Ring.
Holiday shopping starts now at all CityWalk retailers
The Universal Studio Store, the Super Nintendo World store and the UNIVRS store on CityWalk will be available to everyone who visits, even those who don't plan to visit the theme park. All of the official Universal stores feature many of the items you can only find inside the park, along with special holiday-themed merchandise just for the season. It's a great place to stock up on gifts for Harry Potter fans, cinephiles, Nintendo lovers and so much more. Also remember that Universal Studios annual pass members get discounts from many retailers on CityWalk, so always ask before you finish your transactions!
