Suits LA Brings Back [SPOILER] For a Legal Trick Orchestrated by Harvey Specter
In Episode 9 of Suits LA, a recognizable face from the original show makes his on-screen return to the franchise.
Suits LA fans have been pleasantly surprised to see Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) make appearances in the spinoff show, after getting to know the character in the original Suits series. However, those who tuned into the most recent episode will know he’s not the only OG cast member who has come back.
In Episode 8 of Suits LA, Harvey referenced Hardman, as in hard-working attorney Daniel Hardman (David Costabile). During the scene, which was set back in 2010 during the Pellegrini (Anthony Azizi) trial, Harvey gives former prosecutor Ted Black (Stephen Amell) the technique needed to get Hardman to testify against Pellegrini, who is CEO of a company Hardman represents. In Episode 9, we see this plan play out.
SPOILER ALERT for Suits LA Episode 9.
The episode kicks off with a flashback of Hardman himself sitting on the stand whilst Black is questioning him.
He reveals that, since his wife has been ill for several years, he hasn’t been practicing as an attorney. This means that this flashback takes place during the time jump between Seasons 1 and 2 of Suits, since Hardman’s wife, Alicia Hardman, died from her cancer battle in the premiere episode of Season 2.

Black continues his line of questioning and asks Hardman to view documents for three “hypothetical” companies and their financial records and give his view on their accounts, based on his expertise.
“It’s clearly a scheme designed to launder money,” he testifies.
What he doesn’t know and what Black soon reveals to him is that those companies are Hardman’s client. Unbeknownst to him, he just exposed their criminal activity. He tries to protest and attempt to change his stance, but Black pushes forward with his case.
“And I’d ask if you were in fear for your life at the moment, but I don’t want you to perjure yourself,” Black remarks.
Ultimately, Hardman's testimony helps prove Black’s case and Pelligrini is found guilty of all charges. A massive win in court for Black against Pellegrini and a petty but satisfying win for Specter against Hardman.
In the present of Suits LA, though, Pellegrini is supposedly getting out of prison and that inspired Harvey to team up with Ted once more and go after him again in the remainder of Episode 9.
With Gabriel Macht's three-episode storyline in behind us, the question is will viewers be seeing more of Hardman?
