Saturday Night Live UK Is in the Works with Lorne Michaels Executive-Producing
Yes, really — late night sketch series will air on Sky Max in the UK and Ireland, and the o.g. version's creator is involved.
Fifty years after Saturday Night Live introduced the trailblazing late-night sketch series to American audiences, comedy fans across the pond will soon be hearing, “Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!" on their TVs. Saturday Night Live UK is currently in development in a partnership between Sky and NBC.
“For over 50 years Saturday Night Live has held a unique position in TV and in our collective culture, reflecting and creating the global conversation all under the masterful comedic guidance of Lorne Michaels," Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and Sky's Chief Content Officer for Sky, said in a comment. "The show has discovered and nurtured countless comedy and musical talents over the years and we are thrilled to be partnering with Lorne and the SNL team to bring an all-British version of the show to UK audiences next year – all live from London on Saturday night!”

SNL UK will air live from London
Per the announcement from the Comcast-owned NBC and Sky, "the London-based series will follow the same live, fast-paced style that has made the show a cultural phenomenon with iconic hosts, musical guests and a core cast of the funniest British comedians around."
The show will reach audiences across the UK and Ireland, and is produced by Broadway Video and Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK production team.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels is on board to executive produce Saturday Night Live UK — but not to worry, Michaels will continue to EP SNL in New York City in Season 51.
When will Saturday Night Live UK premiere?
Saturday Night Live UK will premiere in 2026 on Sky Max and the streaming service NOW.

Who is in the SNL UK cast?
No cast information has been revealed as of yet, though given England's own rich tradition of sketch comedy, we're excited to meet the talented performers who'll be the faces of SNL UK Season 1.
