The Moment Parvati Shallow Knew David Genat Was an "Insane," "Nutjob" DONDI Player
"My game is usually messy, I'm just very good at picking up the pieces," Genat told Shallow.
Following his larger-than-life victory on Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, David Genat was stoked to catch up with his main Banker's Island ally, Parvati Shallow on a March episode of her podcast. Despite his historic winnings, though, Shallow hasn't forgotten Genat's shenanigans from the show.
Genat visited Shallow on her podcast Nice Girls Don't Win to chat about their time on Banker's Island, and the Survivor stars couldn't stop giggling as they recalled some of their sillier moments from Season 2. Boasting brute strength and social savviness, Genat seemed in complete control at every stage of the competition. But Shallow was keen to clarify that Genat had some hilarious slip-ups on his quest to beat the Banker.
"You were so dumb in those challenges; let's be real," Shallow said while recalling a moment from Banker's Island when Genat ran the wrong way during a high-stakes excursion.
"You ran the wrong way!" Shallow teased while Genat laughed. "You did that not on purpose. You really did that because you're a dumb dumb."
"So a big part of my game is actually pretending to be as dumb as possible, but yeah, that was actually a genuine dumb moment," DONDI's Season 2 champion confessed. "I don't play clean. Like, my game is usually messy. I'm just very good at picking up the pieces."
"I learned that Day 1 when you decided to go for the red cases," Shallow recalled. For those who missed it: During the DONDI Season 2 premiere, Genat didn't hesitate to go for the riskiest briefcase possible during the debut excursion.
Genat's first impression was spot on — the dude goes big or goes home, as evidenced by his historic winnings of $5.8 million. "I was like, 'This guy's insane!'" Shallow teased. "'Oh no, I thought we could work together, but he's a nut job!'"

Genat shared a clip from the interview to Instagram, captioning the post, "sat down with @pshallow & @bean_there for @nicegirlsdontwin_ to chat about how great i am, a topic im very into…"
Despite Genat's "insane" and messy gameplay, it paid off in spades. He broke network TV records with his staggering winnings. But Genat couldn't have scored the $5.8 million alone; he emerged as Season 2's winner after teaming up with Shallow and forming "The Family" alliance.
Parvati Shallow talks about her powerhouse alliance with David Genat
Shallow and Genat first connected on Banker's Island due to their shared Survivor experience. However, since their competition had never watched the Australian version of the show, Genat — a.k.a the "Golden God" of Australia Survivor — was able to operate undercover throughout the game. Shallow and Genat then dominated as the "mother" and "father" of "The Family" alliance, as their rivals struggled to take them down.
While Shallow ultimately landed in fourth place, she was elated to see her cherished ally score the final game against the Banker.

"If I'm really lucky, I get an alliance mate that's a partner, that's really freaking smart, that compliments me, that has skills that I don't have... I was lucky to have that with Genat," Shallow told NBC Insider. "I felt like we instantly connected right away... And he plays like me; he's very kind of flirty and fun and campy and silly and playful, and I love that. And a lot of people take these games really seriously, and they get so intense..."
"But with Genat, it was always super light and fun," Shallow said, adding, "We're just, like, very kindred spirits. It kind of just worked out. It felt like a gift from the universe that we were placed on that island together."
