Martha Stewart Reveals Her "Very Bad Habit" (DETAILS)
You'll never guess what the Yes, Chef! star does in bed.
As it turns out, Martha Stewart is more similar to the average person than we may have thought. The Yes, Chef! star has a bad bedtime habit that so many can relate to.
In a September 2022 TODAY.com interview, Stewart clued fans in about her nighttime routine, and although some of it is the kind of straightforward advice you'd expect her to give ("You must, must, completely clean your face"), her admission of a "very bad habit" has us nodding our heads in agreement. Brace yourselves, everyone: The 83-year-old lifestyle mogul is just as hopelessly tethered to screens as we all are.
Although Stewart doesn't have a TV in her bedroom, she is more than prepared for some pre-sleep scrolling.
"I have two iPads next to my bed, fully charged, just in case," she said.
Stewart, who describes herself as an insomniac, acknowledges that being glued to screens late into the night is probably doing her more harm than good, but she can't resist. She uses her iPads to play games and puzzles, read The New York Times, and essentially scroll the night away.
(You know, just like millions of people do every night!)
"I do all of that while I'm lying in bed," she said.

Still, when it is time to put down her devices for the night after a long day on her farm, Stewart's mind races as she fights the urge to get overwhelmed with whatever she has planned for the next day. The star revealed that even she is susceptible to stress about the minutiae of tomorrow!
"What am I gonna wear? What's my wardrobe for tomorrow?" Stewart said of the things that go through her mind before she finally falls asleep. "And am I going to be able to get everything done in time to do the last thing I have to do in the day?"
Fans will be happy to know that, despite her always-busy schedule, Stewart wouldn't have it any other way.
"I have a lot to do and, you know what? Luckily I do. What if I had nothing to do today? I don't know what I would possibly be doing," she confessed.
Yes, Chef! is just days away from its April 28 premiere on NBC
Stewart's big day is almost here! Yes, Chef! premieres on Monday, April 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, following a new episode of The Voice.
Yes, Chef! will be co-hosted by Stewart and restaurateur/humanitarian chef José Andrés. In an April 2025 PEOPLE interview, the stars revealed they look forward to working together on the reality series!
"We had known each other for many years, but not a close relationship in any way," Stewart explained. "I've eaten, I think, at most of his restaurants and been very, very impressed with his work, both in the restaurants and in his humanitarian work."

"Martha has the most beautiful sarcasm ever," Andrés added in the same interview. "She can deliver anything to anybody and just use a smile. She has powers. I say the same thing and they look at me like, 'Excuse me?' She says the same thing and they laugh for her. Really? That's a power!"
We can't wait to see the dynamic between the two influential kitchen legends when Yes, Chef! Premieres on April 28. Until then, here's everything you need to know about the series!
