About "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield

Released in 2004 off her self-titled debut album, "Unwritten" reached the number-five position on the Billboard  Hot 100 chart. It was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

According to an interview Bedingfield gave with Insider in 2021, the idea for "Unwritten" came from a poem that she wrote to inspire her 14-year-old brother.

"I don't just decide, 'I'm going to write a happy song.' I want to talk about real stuff, and then I want to let that stuff change me into a better person," she told the outlet.
