Already in 2024, Dateline has presented the baffling case involving Texas jewelry store owner Corey Shaughnessy, who woke up to gunshots in her bedroom, then stumbled into the kitchen and found her husband of 30 years dead on the floor. The case would take a series of surprising twists and turns before a sinister plot was uncovered that left even veteran Dateline correspondent Andrea Canning stunned.
Dateline fans also caught up on the shocking murder of law professor Dan Markel and the latest arrest in the case, which landed a grandmother in jail. In a jetway takedown that Dateline correspondent Dennis Murphy called a “free-for-all,” Donna Adelson, the matriarch of a wealthy Florida family, was the latest to be implicated in the cold-blooded murder-for-hire plot that left her former son-in-law dead.

In place of Dateline, NBC will air part of the 2024 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships on Friday, January 26. The women’s free skate starts at 8 p.m. on NBC.
