For the past few Monday nights, mystery fans have been tuning in to watch NBC’s The Hunting Party.
The series follows a group of crime-fighting experts who were assigned to recapture the criminals who escaped from a top-secret prison for serial killers, The Pit.
In each episode, the squad, which includes FBI agent Rebecca “Bex” Henderson (Melissa Roxburgh) and CIA agent Jacob Hassani (Patrick Sabongui), went after a serial killer and took them down.
The latest killer was Jenna Wells (Eliza Coupe), aka The Chemist Killer, a former pharmacist who used her job to poison her customers. Ultimately, after a rollercoaster of events, former Pit prison guard Shane Florence (Josh McKenzie) killed her, but not before Hassani got shot. The finale revealed many answers and new mysteries, with one in particular involving Hassani: His wife is dead, and he's still contending with that grief.
“We get a little bit of insight in that finale episode about his wife, so that opens up a whole bunch of questions about his children,” Sabongui told NBC Insider. “Are they back in D.C.? How good of a father can he actually be if we're watching him all day, every day, on these planes, and he's in different states chasing bad guys? And how does that land on him?"
